Who We Are
Deakins Automotive started in 1945, right here in Lebanon on Lafayette Ave., just down the street from the current shop. Bill "Deak" Deakins started with a Gulf Gas and Service station at 110 Lafayette Ave. After a few years, Deak decided to expand the automotive repair side of the family business and moved it down to 905 Lafayette Ave.
Eventually Gary Deakins, the 2nd generation, decided to move the business to Thorntown where he established his family. Gary served the town and surrounding areas for more than 30 years before retiring. Since then, the 3rd generation of family has been running the business and has continued to serve Boone County and the surrounding areas.
Jason Deakins moved it back to Lebanon in 2011, locating the shop at its current location of 703 Lafayette Ave. The business has continued to do what it does best and serve the people of the community. Deakins continues to grow, expand, and improve the business side of the shop. Andy Deakins leads the technicians and the shop alongside cousin and long-time co-worker Jimmy Bolen. Jessica, Jason & Andy's sister, takes care of the shop customer's needs. Other members of the shop family are Joe Williams. With the family philosophy and culture, the business continues to thrive.
