Extremely Disappointed – Overpriced and Incomplete Brake Work I brought my 2018 Chevrolet Silverado High Country to Deakins Automotive in Lebanon, Indiana and specifically asked to have all brakes done. I was charged $779.30, which led me to reasonably assume that all four brakes were serviced. That assumption was completely wrong. Only the front brake pads were replaced. My rear brakes were not touched at all, and within one month they were metal-to-metal, which nearly caused an accident. To make matters worse, the rotors were clearly needed, yet nothing was mentioned, recommended, or explained to me at the time of service. Charging nearly $800 for just front brake pads and installation is wildly overpriced, especially when the customer explicitly requested a full brake job. There was no communication, no clarification, and no transparency about what work was actually being done. This experience left me feeling misled and unsafe. Brake work is not something to cut corners on, and failing to address or even mention severely worn rear brakes is unacceptable. I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend bringing your vehicle to this establishment. If you do, make sure you get everything in writing—because what you ask for and what you actually get may be very different.
Thank you for your review. We’d like to clarify the work performed and the inspection results from your visit. The brake service completed included front brake pads and front rotors, not pads alone. The invoice total also reflects additional diagnostic labor, including testing related to a transmission concern. At the time of service, a full brake inspection was performed and reviewed with you, and the rear brake pads measured 7mm, which is well within manufacturer service limits. Based on those measured results, rear brakes were not recommended or quoted, and this was discussed and agreed upon during the visit. We can only speak to the condition of the vehicle at the time it was in our care. We did not see the vehicle again after the service, but we are always willing to review inspection documentation or answer any questions to ensure clarity and transparency.
